Jayne Tomkinson
NCPS Senior Accreditation, BSc(hons), FdSc, MBACP
Hello! As an integrative counsellor and clinical supervisor, I offer counselling in a warm, safe environment, where your feelings, thoughts and emotions can be explored, in an empathic and congruent manner. I work within the BACP ethical framework, working practices and policies. It is my belief that counselling should take place in an environment where positive healing can take place.
I work with adults and young people in the areas of abuse, bereavement, anger management, OCD, PTSD, trauma, relationship and family issues, low esteem and self confidence, depression, divorce and domestic violence.
I also work with organisations offering counselling and supervision support to employees, managers and directors for work related issues including workplace trauma, stress and emotional distress, redundancy, change management, workplace bullying and harassment, trauma and PTSD. I also offer critical post incident debriefing sessions.
I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate and public liability insurance with Towergate Insurance.
Clinical Supervision
As a trained, experienced supervisor I can provide guidance, support, and oversight to other counsellors or therapists in their own practice. This helps them to enhance their professional development in terms of the quality of care provided to clients. It also aims to help them maintain safe, ethical standards within their therapeutic relationships according to the BACP’s ethical frameworks.
This clinical therapeutic supervision includes the offering of emotional support and practical guidance, helping counsellors to navigate complex and stressful situations. Review of specific client cases helps the counsellor to provide effective, ethical care in their planning of treatment. I can also offer feedback and evaluation of performance in aid of continued professional development, as well as both discussing theoretical orientation and encouraging reflective practice and personal growth. This, ultimately, is in the service of ethical practice, ensuring client safety, and enhancing counsellors’ clinical skills.
Executive Coaching
Since completing my postgraduate certificate (Level 7) in Coaching and Mentoring, I have been working with executive boards to provide personalised development progress plans and helping those individuals in leadership positions to improve their performance, enhancing their leadership and communication, time management, and delegation skills in order to achieve their professional goals. Coaching sessions are tailored to each executive’s specific needs and challenges, identifying objectives that relate to personal growth, team management skills, strategic thinking, communication skills, decision making skills, conflict resolution, and emotional resilience.
Executive coaching is an essential practice for all those holding executive positions and for high potential employees as the sessions offer the opportunity to enhance leadership and organisational skills, improve team dynamics, and ultimately drive organisational success.
Typically executive coaching opportunities involve one-to-one coaching sessions that can be delivered either in-person or online.
Sessions from £100.00.
Human Formation
Since Pope St John Paul II published Pastores Dabo Vobis, his apostolic exhortation on the formation of priests, the Catholic Church has sought to address the healthy development of the human person as a foundational concern for the training of its clergy. I have extensive and ongoing experience working with the seminaries, bishops, and archbishops of the Catholic Church in England and Wales in offering support, guidance, and training to their current and in-formation clergy.
I am well-acquainted in the human formation aspects of the Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis Sacerdotalis (The Gift of the Priestly Vocation) and the Charter for Priestly Formation. These can be summed up thus:
The divine call engages and involved the “concrete” human person. Formation for the priesthood must necessarily provide adequate means to allow for maturation in view of an authentic exercise of the priestly ministry. To that end, the seminarian is called up to develop his personality, having Christ, the perfect man, as his model and source.
This human development must also be fully integrated into the seminarian’s spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral development. The Church looks for a man to have emotional balance, self-control, and a well integrated sexuality. To this end, I offer both individual counselling of seminarians and clergy and group sessions. I also offer more formal training in a classroom setting, teaching subject such as mental health first aid, essential counselling, and listening skills.
